Claude Hyde was the son Francis Marion Hyde and Margaret  Catherine Burdett. He was born September 11, 1879 and died June 24, 1905. According to records listed in the Gordon County paper published at that time, Claude drown in the Ootanaula River in Gordon County. Because his death was at a young age that are not many records about him. He is buried at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Adairsville, GA. Bartow County. He is buried beside his father, Marion, born March 22, 1843 died November 6, 1895. A sister, Mary Malinda, born November 17, 1878, died June 24, 1893 is buried there also.

Claude has several brothers and sisters. After the death of their father, most of the family moved to Gordon or Whitfield County, GA.

Brothers and Sisters:

Asa Asbury Hyde William D. Hyde
(May have been known as Jack)
Frances E. Hyde (Faulkenberry) Hiram Hyde
Armanda Hyde Anna Violet
Mary Malinda Claude Hyde
George Walter Hyde

The spelling of names varied from census to census. Armanda was listed as Mandy, Manota. The census workers wrote names as they sounded.

Asa, William, Frances, Hiram, Armanda, George and their mother are buried at Hill City Baptist Church.  I have not been able to find information on Anna Violet.

Claude had three children, Arthur, George and a daughter Claudia. Claudie died December 29, 1928. She was 22 years old. She was married to Jack Holden and had three little boys. She died in childbirth with the youngest. He was raised by her mother.
