Mrs. Abernathy Dies Following Long Illness

Mrs. Callie Broughton Abernathy, 64, died at her home on Route 2, Cartersville, early Sunday following an illness of five years.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Tabernacle Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. George Crowe officiating, assisted by the Rev. Marvin V. Stedham, pastor of the First Baptist Church.  Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, and the Owen Funeral is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Abernathy was born in Bartow County April 05, 1882.  She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Broughton and was a member of the Baptist Church.  Her late husband, Charlie W. Abernathy, preceded her in death, May 20, 1946.

Mrs. Abernathy is survived by her three daughters, Mrs. Herman Smith and Mrs. Hugh Broke, both of Cartersville, and Mrs. Rhodes Nelson, of Norristown, Pennsylvania.
