William F. (Bill) Alford, 56, of 77 Green Loop Road, Adairsville, died Sunday March 7, 1999, at the residence following a sudden attack.

He was born in Floyd County, Dec. 25, 1942, son of the late William Floyd Alford and Christine Lewis Alford who survives. He was retired from Lockheed, Marietta, where he was a lead man and was a member of Plainview Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Michele Alford and Stephanie Alford, both of Atlanta; his mother, Christine Alford of Adairsville; one sister, Paula Payne of Adairsville; three brothers, Linn Alford, Glenn Alford, and Windel Alford, all of Adairsville; one grandson and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hibberts and Rev. G.W. Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Alex Payne, Gordon Kirby, Johnny Ward, Randy Waldon, Talmadge Chambers, and Robert Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Alford, Jimmy Payne, Ray Holcomb, Charlie Kirby and Greg Parham.

The family received friends Tuesday evening at the Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville. At other hours, they will be at the residence.

R. Dudley Barton and Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, is in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. William F. (Bill) Alford.
