Mr. John Allen

Mr. John Allen, an old, well known and popular citizen of the county, died at his home some seven miles north of the city, on Saturday last and his remains were interred in Cartersville cemetery on Sunday evening. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in this city, and were conducted by Dr. W. H. Felton, who was Mr. Allen’s neighbor. The remarks upon the life and character of the deceased were very touching. Mr. Allen was a man of the many excellent impulses and attributes, among which were frankness, kindness, industry and honesty.

He leaves four grown children, two sons and two daughters.

Mr. Allen originally came from England.
