Tail-End Wreck At Graysville. Chattanooga Times. The wreck that occurred at 6 o’clock p. m., Saturday at Graysville, Ga., on the Western and Atlantic railway, turned out to be much worse than was at first reported. Three men were killed outright, one man injured so bad that his recovery is hopeless, while three others were seriously hurt. The wreck was, in fact, one of the worst in years, and the wreckage was not cleared away until sunrise Sunday morning. [Long article continues. The dead were: Charles Jackson of Atlanta, Ga., aged 40 years, engineer of the rear locomotive of the second section; Alonzo Touchstone, aged 27 and a resident of Chattanooga; Arthur Ament, aged 15 and a resident of Chattanooga, brother-in-law to Arthur Ament]. |
