Sudden Death from heart Disease.

On Monday evening last, about dark, as an old gentleman by the name of Mr. Elijah Bailey was stopping out of the rain in an out house on the place of Mr. Samuel C. Smith, near Cassville, he was suddenly and without warning stricken with heart disease, dying immediately. The deceased was an excellent old gentleman, being raised in the Laurens’ district, S. C., and was sixty-nine years of age at the time of his death. He had been at work all day cutting fodder, but had complained of his heart affecting him at breakfast and dinner. A shower of rain came up very near dark, and, as above stated, he sought shelter in an out house. The coroner, being notified, empanelled a jury on Tuesday morning, and, from the evidence adduced at the inquest, a verdict was rendered to the effect that Mr. Bailey had died from heart disease. The deceased was a good worker and an honest man, and his death was keenly felt in his immediate neighborhood. He leaves an aged wife and a daughter to mourn his loss.
