A Sad Death.

Mrs. Alice Renfroe Barnes Passes Away, at Her father’s Home, in This City.

One of the saddest deaths that has occurred in the community in some time was that of Mrs. Alice Renfroe Barnes, which occurred at the home of her father, Maj. W. H. Renfroe, on Market street, at an early hour on Tuesday night.

Her afflictions were of several months duration, beginning first in Atlanta, but about two weeks ago she was brought here, where she had the loving, tender, unceasing care of her home folks and yet these, together with the best skill of faithful physicians, were unavailing in staying the march of consuming affliction and her sweet spirit winged its flight to the God who gave it at the time above stated. Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Methodist church and was a true Christian, and with a fortitude and resignation remarkable met afflictions and troubles that were unusual to one so young, and welcomed that end that brought sweet and lasting peace to a wearied nature.

The funeral of Mrs. Barnes occurred at the home of Maj. Renfroe on yesterday evening, the services being strikingly impressive, Rev. A. J. Jarrell officiating. The remains were carried away on the evening southbound passenger and will be interred in the old family burial lot in the cemetery at Sandersville.
