Death of an Estimable Lady.

Mrs. Louisa Benham died in this city on last Thursday, after an illness of several months. She was 64 years of age. She was the wife of Dr. W. I. Benham and the mother of Mrs. W. H. Lumpkin, Mrs. Thomas Lumpkin and Mrs. A. Strickland, and was a most estimable lady. She possessed a quiet, dignified, gentle manner, through which her piety and goodness shone to those who knew her best with a rare radiance. As wife, mother, friend, she was true, steadfast, kind, sympathetic, forbearing, and her benign influence made all better who came in contact with her or knew her pure, sweet, gentle ways. She was before her marriage, Miss Louisa Schulte. She was a dutiful member of the Methodist church.

Her remains were interred at the Benham family burying ground a few miles north of the city.
