Mrs. Blankenship Dies Following Long Illness

Mrs. M.W. Blankenship of the Macedonia community, Rte. 2, Kingston, died Wednesday morning last week at the residence following an illness of several weeks.

A native of Bartow County, Mrs. Blankenship, 54, was the daughter of the late Clemmons and Maggie Owens Tate.  She was a member of the Baptist church.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are two sons, Hugh Blankenship, T. J. Blankenship, Rte. 2, Kingston; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Dodd, Rome; Miss Irene Tate, Rockmart; two brothers, A. C. Tate, C. B. Tate, Rockmart; one half brother, S. T. Dawson, Rockmart.  Three grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at the Spring Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Willard Willis and the Rev. Coleman Spears officiating at the last rites.

Pallbearers were C. L. Tate, Ronald Tate, Joe Dodd, J. W. Scott, Roy Blankenship, and Buddy Blankenship.

Interment was in the Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of the Owen Funeral Home.
