By a private letter to the Augusta Republican learns the death of Mr. Benjamin Brantly, at Little Rock, Ark., on the 25th ult.  The deceased resided for many years in Penfield, Ga., where he published the Christian Index and the Temperance Banner. – A few years since he removed to Little Rock.  On the 19 of June he was taken suddenly ill, he suffered a great deal until within half an hour of his death; he then fell into a calm sleep.  Those who knew him need not the comforting assurance that his death was triumphant in the Christian’s hope.
