Kingston, Georgia, March 3 — Mr. William G. Bruce, beloved citizen and member of prominent Kingston family, passed away at his home early Wednesday morning, February 19th, after a brief illness of pneumonia.

Mr. Bruce was born in Fair Play, S.C. 66 years ago, the son of the late C.C.M. Bruce and his wife, Mary Valentine Bruce. He was a member of the Baptist Church, a man whose friendship was a thing of value. He was a landscape gardener of some note, loving nature, and deriving much pleasure from his garden.

Mr. Bruce is survived by one brother Mr. J.E. Bruce, one sister, Miss Florence Bruce, both of Kingston; two nephews, J.W. Shealor of Houston, Texas, and C.B. Shealor of Calhoun; two nieces, Mrs. Charles Thomas of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. J.W. Cawthorn, of Orlando, Florida.

Impressive funeral services were held at the residence Thursday afternoon at two o’clock with Rev. Clifton Freeman and Rev. A.S. Ulm officiating. Pallbearers were Messrs. Gus McMakin, Wade Johnson, F.E. Martin, W.T. Gillim, Irby Henderson and Isaac Rollings. Interment was in Kingston Cemetery. W.P. Withworth in charge of arrangements.
