Death of Dr. Burkhead.

Rev. J. DeWitt Burkhead, one of the most prominent ministers of the Presbyterian church, died at Montgomery, Ala., last Monday evening. Dr. Burkhead was for several years a resident of Cartersville, and the news of his death will be a shock to his many friends in this community. He was a man of great ability, a splendid pulpit orator, and few ministers have been so popular as he was during the years in which he was an evangelist here in North Georgia. After leaving here he lived a short time in Texas, and for the last few years has been pastor of the First Presbyterian church at Montgomery, Ala.
