Mr. James Burley

A Mr. James Burley of Missouri, was accidentally killed at the forge on Shoal creek near this place last week. The accident was caused by a large hammer falling on and causing the tongs, held by Mr. Burley, to come together and completely severing the abdomen. Mr. Burley lived about two days after he received the fatal wound. The deceased was a native of Missouri, and had been here but about two weeks previous to his death. He was regarded by all who knew him as an honest man and a good citizen.
