DIED, in Cassville, on Friday, 4th inst., FRANCIS DEFOREST, only child of Mr. P. L. and Mrs. Georgianna BURROUGHS; aged 7 years, 4 months, and 16 days.

Little Fannie was a dear and interesting child and was the idol of her parents’ kindest affection.  How beautiful the thought, to remember that she was taken while a child; nothing to fear, nothing to dread, but all is calm and sublime.  She was too pure for earth, and God, who loves little children, saw proper to take her home.--Weep not, she is at rest with Angels.

Weep not as those who have no hope,
The little child is blessed,
It’s tiny spirit lifted up,
From earth in heaven to rest.

Your little one with God doth dwell,
With Angels bright and fair,
While you mourn for her you love so well,
Prepare to meet her there.

‘Twas Jesus blessed the little child,
While here on earth He staid,
And little Fannie, meek and mild,
Is to Him now conveyed.

A Friend.
