Will Burton Dead.
Well Known and Deserving Young Man Passes Away Thursday.

At six o’clock last Thursday evening Will Burton was stricken by the hand of death after being operated on for appendicitis and a hard fight for his life.  Will was operated on about a week before his death and held on with wonderful tenacity until Thursday.

He was the son of W. T. Burton, of this city, and was in his twentieth year.  He was a good and popular boy and was in the third grade of the Cartersville high school.  He was good in all his studies and only two weeks before his death won many of the prizes in the athletic meet which was held by the high school.

The funeral took place from the Baptist church Saturday afternoon at two thirty o’clock and long before the hour of the funeral the church was packed with school children and young friends of the boy to pay their last tribute of respect.  The funeral was conducted by Rev. Sam Dean and interment took place at Oak Hill cemetery.
