On last Friday evening young Mr. Byrd, a grandson of John M. Peace, died at the residence of the latter and was buried Saturday afternoon at the same cemetery. Thus two young men of twenty-two years of age died very near the same time, and two open graves at once to hide from our view those we have nursed in childhood, to be separated until the final day, when it will be said of us, thou hast served out thy days, and we, too, must be numbered with the dead. May we all be ready.[Article refers to another article in The Courant American, September 25, 1890, on death of S.P. Seay who was also buried at Mt. Carmel.] |
