Mr. J. W. Clayton Dead. The remains of Mr. J. Clayton, who died in Atlanta Sunday morning were brought to Cartersville Monday morning and carried to Euharlee, where interment took place Monday afternoon. The Atlanta Constitution of Monday morning has the following notice of Mr. Clayton’s death: “J. W. Clayton, 83 years of age, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Linton Elliott, 104 East Linden street, at 9:30 o’clock yesterday morning, after an illness of several weeks. He is survived by his wife and ten children: Mrs. J. D. Lanier and Mrs. Allen Howard, of Birmingham, Ala.; R. M. Clayton, Easonville, Ala.; J. W. Clayton, Chihuahua, Mexico; Mrs. A. W. Acree and B. H. Clayton, Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. J. W. Rinalda, Tampa, Fla.; Mrs. Cora Collins, Mrs. Linton Elliott and G. A. Clayton, of Atlanta. The body will be sent this morning to Euharlee, Ga., where the funeral and interment will take place. The deceased was the father of Mr. Miles Collins, who formerly resided here but who now lives in Atlanta. Mrs. Collins, accompanied by her son, Horace, came up and attended the funeral. |
