News reached the relatives here on Tuesday of the death of Capt. W. E. Cothran, which occurred at his home at Greenwood, S. C., on Sunday evening, at 8 o’clock. Capt. Cothran was a prominent and very popular citizen of this town and community and has a number of schoolmates and old acquaintances in this section.  He had been ill for quite awhile.  He was a brother of Mrs. M. R. Stephens and an uncle of Mrs. John P. Anderson, and Mrs. W. H. Milner, of this city. He leaves a large family.
