Aged Colored Citizen Dies

S.C. Cousins, respected colored citizen, died at his home in Cartersville, Thursday, May 22nd, at the age of 63.

Cousins served in capacity of janitor for the American Textile Company many years and was soon to receive his five year service pin from Goodyear, by whom he was employed at the time of his death.

He was held in high esteem by both white and colored, numbering his friends by his acquaintances.

His funeral was conducted from Alexander Chapel Thursday morning with fellow workers at Goodyear as pallbearers and interment at Villa Rica the order of which he was a member in charge.

Besides his widow he leaves numerous relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Truly it may be said “A gentleman in ebony has passed”—Contributed
