Dawson

John T. Dawson, 87, of Old Rome Road, Kingston, died Friday, December 20, 1996.

He was born May 20, 1909 in Bartow County, a son of the late B.J. and Callie May Callaway Dawson.  He was a retired textile worker, a farmer and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by a son, Phil Dawson.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Brock Dawson of Kingston; a son, Bobby Dawson of Kingston; two grandsons, Tim Dawson and Bob Dawson, both of Kingston; five great-grandchildren, Hannah, Sara, Christina, John and China Dawson; a brother, Lawrence Dawson of Kingston; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Kingston City Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Willis and Rev. Donald Pinson officiating.  Interment will follow in the family lot.

Pallbearers will include Louie Brock, Tim Dawson, Bob Dawson, James Dawson, Dale Pinson and Danny Jolly.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, is in charge of arrangements.
