Dawson

Mary Irene Dawson, 86, of Old Rome Road, Kingston, died Friday, May 4, 2001.

Mrs. Dawson was born Dec. 16, 1914 in Bartow County, a daughter of the late Thomas Brock and Edith Cantrell Brock.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Raccoon Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Dawson in 1996 and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Shelba Dawson of Kingston; grandchildren, Tim and Bob Dawson; great grandchildren, Hanna, Sara, Christina, John and China Dawson; brothers and sisters, Charles Brock of Stilesboro, Pauline Dempsey of Acworth, Mary Morris of Stilesboro, Timmy Brock of Cartersville, Cathy Strickland of Cartersville and Ricky Brock.

She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Phillip Dawson; a grandson, John Dawson and nine brothers and sisters.

Graveside services are at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2001 at the Kingston Cemetery, with the Rev. Donald Pinson officiating.

The family received friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, May 5 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Ronnie, James, Bob and Tim Dawson, Louie Brock and Sonny Brock.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of arrangements.
