Adairsville, June 24, 1879.

It is with regret that we announce the death of Maj. Dearing, which occurred last Friday morning.  Maj. Dearing was formerly a citizen of Athens, Ga., and recently moved to this place.  Although his stay among us was brief, it was sufficient to have won for him many friends and the respect of all.  His remains were taken to Athens last Saturday night for interment.  He leaves a large family, and to them we tender our heart-felt sympathies.
