Mr. Thomas Glenn Dinning, 85, of 1605 Highway 140, Adairsville, died on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on Dec. 25, 1913 in Bartow County, son of the late Thomas Berryman Dinning and Alice Stancil Dinning. He was a member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church, where he was the oldest deacon. He was retired from Shaw Industries, and he had also worked for many years at Adairsville Hardware and Cliff Worthington's Wholesale Supply Groceries.

Survivors include his wife, Mamie Lou Self Dinning of Adairsville, to whom he was married on Dec. 13, 1933; a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Betty Dinning of Adairsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Lorene and Jack Willis of Adairsville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Al, Lonnita, Amber and Kam Willis, all of Adairsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Hibberts and the Rev. Druey Tierce officiating.   Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jack Willis, Al Willis, Kam Willis, Harold Mealor, Danny Mealor and Joey Deems.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Oothcalooga Baptist Church and Greg Vincent and Emory Hicks.

The family will receive friends at Barton Funeral Home on Friday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

R. Dudley Barton and Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, has charge of the arrangements.
