Mrs. Susan J. Dobbins

This good lady passed from earth to her final rest at her home in this city, surrounded by her children, on Saturday last.

Mrs. Dobbins had been in feeble health for several years, a general complication of maladies finally terminating in dropsy and heart disease, which caused her death. She was in her seventy fourth year.

Mrs. Dobbins having long resided in Bartow County was well known and was much beliked for her modest, pleasing ways and goodness of heart. Her husband, Col. Miles G. Dobbins, died at Cass Station in July 1877. He was buried in the family vault in Atlanta. Mrs. Dobbins’ remains were carried there and now repose beside his.

She leaves to survive her four children. They are Mrs. J. D. Cunningham, of Atlanta, Mrs. G. A. Veach, of Adairsville and Mrs. E. E. Freeman and Mr. Miles Dobbins Jr., of this city.

She was a member of the Baptist church and lived up to all her Christian duties.
