Asa Dobbs Dead.
Former Cartersville Citizen Passes Away in Atlanta.

Asa Dobbs, a former citizen of Cartersville, died in Atlanta, where he had been making his home for some time, last Sunday.  His death was sudden and was from heart failure.  Mr. Dobbs received a stroke of paralysis some time ago, from the effects of which he had never fully recovered before his final attack.  He was 74 years of age.

Asa Dobbs became a resident of Cartersville a number of years previous to the civil war, moving here from Cobb county.  He entered the confederate army as a member of the 18th Georgia regiment and fought with that regiment on the fields of Virginia.

After the war he returned to Cartersville, which he made his home until a few years ago, when he moved to Atlanta.

One brother survives him, Thomas Dobbs, whose home is at Tyler, Texas.  He leaves one son, John S. Dobbs, of Atlanta, and one daughter, Mrs. Robert Rhea, of this city.

The remains were brought to Cartersville for interment.  The funeral took place Tuesday, the services being conducted by Rev. George W. Duval.
