Killed By a Train. A Little Two Years Old Baby Knocked From the Track. Mr. and Mrs. Warren A. Dodd, who live at Taylorsville, were terribly shocked last Friday morning by the sudden and untimely death of their little two year old baby girl, Bessie. The house is near the railroad and the little one crawled out to the tack just as the passenger train came along, and was struck on the head by the pilot and knocked off. When picked up by the train men it was still alive, but died soon after being taken to the house. When the engineer first saw the child it was not near enough to the track to be hit, but was crawling toward and reached the ends of the ties just as the train did. The coroner’s inquest exonerated the train men. The death was a terrible shock to the parents who have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their bereavement. |
