D. R. Gaines Dead.
Remains of Well Known Citizen Brought Home Yesterday.

Mr. D. R. Gaines died Monday night in the state sanitarium at Milledgeville, where he went about two years ago.  The news of Mr. Gaines’ death was received with sadness in this city Tuesday morning.  Mr. Sim Archer, a son-in-law of Mr. Gaines went to Milledgeville Tuesday morning to make arrangements to bring the body to the city and he was met in Atlanta by Mr. Dick Gaines, a brother of the deceased, who accompanied him to Milledgeville.  The remains reached the city last night and the funeral services and the interment will be held here today.

Mr. Gaines was about 55 years old and had lived in this city a number of years and was a good and kind citizen.  The deceased is survived by a wife and the following children: Mrs. Sim Archer, Mrs. Black, Miss Addie Gaines, Mrs. Graham, of Anniston, Mr. Ralph Gaines and Master Raymond Gaines.
