Mrs. Julie A. Gentry, 80, of Rydal, died in a local hospital Saturday, March 15, 1980, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Gentry was a native of Cherokee County, a member of Olive Vine Baptist Church and was a housewife.  She was a daughter of the late Elihue and Nancy Young Abernathy.

Survivors include her husband, Eli Gentry; two daughters, Mrs. Charlie Jones of Cartersville and Mrs. Mozelle Ingram of Rydal; one son, Walt Gentry of Hampton; 23 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., Sunday at the Oak Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Harris Scoggins officiating.  Interment was in the church cemetery.

The following grandsons served as pallbearers: Calvin, Morris, Robert and Joe Gentry, W.L. and Leslie Jones, David and Daniel Benson.
