Death of Mr. Turner Goldsmith.

Major Turner Goldsmith, one of the oldest citizens of Atlanta, died at the home of Mr. J. H. Goldsmith last Saturday morning.

He was born at Greenville, S. C., Sept. 23d, 1802, during Thomas Jefferson’s administration and has voted in all National elections since 1823.

He resided on his farm in this county from 1848 to 1863, and is well known to many of our older people.

He was the father of ten children, one of whom was Mrs. Lewis Tumlin, late of this county.

His remains were laid to rest at Oakland cemetery, Atlanta, Sunday evening.
