Death of Oscar W. Hackett.

This young gentleman, so well known and so greatly beloved by our people, died last evening at 7:30 o’clock at his home in Cannelton, Indiana, after a long spell of sickness.  The news of his death cast a gloom over the entire community and many are the sad regrets that we hear expressed on every hand.  We stop the press to make this simple announcement, but next week a better tribute by an abler writer will appear in this paper.

His death has already been announced in these columns, which death occurred at Cannelton, Indiana, the home of his birth, on Monday, July 12th, 1882.  He died in the 23rd year of his age, and of consumption. [Article continues]
