Death of Oscar W. Hackett. This young gentleman, so well known and so greatly beloved by our people, died last evening at 7:30 o’clock at his home in Cannelton, Indiana, after a long spell of sickness. The news of his death cast a gloom over the entire community and many are the sad regrets that we hear expressed on every hand. We stop the press to make this simple announcement, but next week a better tribute by an abler writer will appear in this paper. ************** August 31, 1882, Page 3 The Late Oscar W. Hackett His death has already been announced in these columns, which death occurred at Cannelton, Indiana, the home of his birth, on Monday, July 12th, 1882.
