The remains of Mrs. J. W. Harris, wife of the chief editor of this paper, who died, near the city, before the war, and who was buried at his residence on Pettit’s creek, were exhumed, on Tuesday last, and removed and reinterred in the city cemetery. She was buried in a metallic case, and her remains were almost in a perfect state of preservation, although it has been about sixteen years since her death. |
