Mrs. E. K. Hawkins. This good lady died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Daniel Cunyus, at Rome, on Friday night last, after an illness of several weeks. She was 62 years of age. Mrs. Hawkins was the wife of Rev. Terry E. Hawkins, of this county, who passed away several years ago, and was the mother of Messrs. Dayton, Walter and Murray Hawkins, Mrs. Wm Pittard, Mrs. Daniel Cunyus, and Misses Emma and Lula Hawkins. She was a member of the same church as her lamented husband and was truly a noble good woman, well beloved by all who knew her. Her remains were brought to Cartersville Sunday and were interred beside those of her husband, in Oak Hill cemetery. The funeral was largely attended. The services were conducted by Rev. R. B. Headden, of Rome. |
