Death of Mrs. Hayes.
Sister of Mrs. D. J. Guyton Dies in Alabama Recently at Ripe Age.

Mrs. Mary Hayes,  a former resident of Bartow county, died at her home at Ohatchie Ala., on the 20th of July, at the age of seventy-five years.

Mrs. Hayes was a sister of Mr. D. J. Guyton of this city. With her husband, she left Bartow county in 1882.  Three years ago her husband Mr. J. B. Hayes died.  She leaves three children, all grown and married.  Her youngest, Mr. Henry Hayes, lived with her.

Mrs. Hays’ husband was a brave soldier in the confederate army and Mrs. Hayes was a devoted, helpful wife and an affectionate mother.  She had been a member of the Baptist church for many years and was a true, consecrated Christian.

Her remains were buried at Milton Baptist church, near where she died.  Mr. and Mrs. Guyton, of this city, were present at her death and funeral.
