Rob Headden Dies Tuesday Morning, Cassville Rites Mr. Rob Headden, a member of one of Bartow County’s leading families, passed away at the Headden home in Cassville Tuesday morning. In ill health for several months, Mr. Headden suffered a stroke on march 24 and steadily grew worse until his death. Of a quite retiring nature, Mr. Headden was noted for his loyalty to his family, his community and his Church where he had an unbroken record of attendance for many years. The deceased was engaged in farming. He was born in Cassville March 8, 1891 the son of the late George H. and Louretta Ann Mayes Headden. The old Headden house, the home of his grandfather was one of the few left standing in Cassville when Sherman applied the torch in 1864. Survivors include a sister, Miss Dell Headden, a brother, John Headden, Cassville. Funeral services were conducted at the Cassville Baptist Church Thursday afternoon at 3:30 with the body lying in state for an hour before the service. The Pastor Rev. H.F. Bowman assisted by the Rev. Walter Adams officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Lindsey Shinall, Albert Allen, Hugh Greer, Jack Jolly, Kenneth Bishop and Ted Wilson. Interment was in the Headden lot in the Cassville Cemetery with Owen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. |
