J. Meadows Heard

We regret to learn of the accidental killing near Walesca of the little son of Mr. J. Meadows Heard. It is reported to have occurred in this way. Some young men went out to roll some logs in the field where the school house is located. Mr. Heard’s son was going to school. The young men went by the schoolhouse and carried the boy with them to their log-rolling. By some accident, they rolled a log over the boy crushing his head and killing him instantly.
