Lealand Heath, 17, of Route 1, Kingston, died following an accident in Miami, Fla., Sunday. The youth was accidentally electrocuted. Funeral services wee held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Blue Pond Baptist Church with the Rev. Ellis Cowart and the Rev. Bill McStotts officiating. Interment was in the Sunset Hills cemetery in Rome. Pallbearers included Michael Rose, Benny Potts, Ronald Byards, Charlie Shapard, Harval Johnson, Anthony Keeney, “Red” Keeney and Gary Hazelwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Potts, Belton Shepherd, Charles Langham, Roy Keeney, Ray Banks and Harold Banks, Robert Lee and Ricky Heath. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Heath, Route 1, Kingston; six brothers, Grady Heath, Jr., Ellis Heath, both of Route 1, Kingston; Jerry Heath, Calhoun; PFC Bobby Heath, Okinawa; Sp-4 Randy Heath, Vietnam; Clarence Heath, Route 1, Kingston; four sisters, Mrs. Betty Jean Shider, Calhoun; Mrs. Mareille Beaves, Calhoun; Mrs. Martha Taylor, Tupelo, Miss., and Miss Peggy Sue Heath, Route 1, Kingston; nieces and nephews. |
