[The date written on this article is Jan. 21, 1933, which is the date of death according to family Bible.] Services Held at Oak Hill Sunday for Aged Matron Mrs. Permelia Henson succumbed at her home on Cartersville route three Saturday morning at 10:30 o’clock following a short illness with pneumonia. Mrs. Henson was born in Cherokee county on June 3, 1850, and was 82 years of age, being one of the oldest matrons in the county. Mrs. Henson was the wife of T. W. Henson, and they had been married for 59 years. Mrs. Henson was a member of the Baptist church, taking part in church work for a number of years. She was a woman of many fine characteristics and was greatly beloved by all who knew her intimately. Surviving Mrs. Henson are her husband, T. W. Henson, one daughter, Mrs. J. D. Goss, and three sons, E. B., E. E., and E. P. Henson, and a number of other relatives. Funeral services were held at Oak Hill church Sunday morning at 11 o’clock, the Rev. M. L. Lacey officiating. Pallbearers were J. M. Henson, James Haley, Tom Henson, W. L. Henson, Claude Harrison and W. L. Haley. Interment was in the Oak Hill cemetery with Cummings-Long-Owen in charge of the funeral arrangements. |
