Robert [Delmar] Hight, 60, of 75 Copeland Road, Cartersville, died Sunday morning, Feb. 6, 2000, at Cartersville Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born in Gordon County, Nov. 20, 1939, son of the late Charlie [Lee] Hight and Lucille Baggett Hight who survives.  He was a member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his father, Charlie [Lee] Hight and a brother, Kenneth Hight.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Hyde Hight, of Cartersville to whom he was married July 17, 1960; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Cindy Hight of Cartersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Tonna and Rocky Dutton of Cartersville; mother, Lucille Baggett Hight of Adairsville; a brother, Charles Hight of Cartersville; a sister, Mattie Langley of Adairsville; three grandchildren, Hannah Hight, Mary Fran Dutton, and Noah Dutton, all of Cartersville; special friends Greg and Becky Vincent of Adairsville; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. form Oothcalooga Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Hibberts, Rev. Robert Chancey, and Rev. Curtis Turner officiating.  Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Brett Davis, Chuck Hight, Eric Langley, Scott Duvall, Gary Wood, Hoyt Campbell, Jimmy Hyde, Jackson Hyde, Dillard Rutledge and Danny Baggett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Oothcalooga Baptist Church and Corey Vincent, Craig Mealor, Chase Lackey, Greg Vincent and Tony Lackey.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.

R. Dudley Barton and Son Funeral Home, Adairsville is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. Robert [Delmar] Hight.
