Kingston. I did hope to give something free from sadness and sorrow, but it becomes my painful duty to chronicle the death of another good citizen. Mr. G. H. Hodgens breathed his last at noon on the 23rd inst., after many months of suffering with consumption. He died in the triumphs of a Christian faith and was a worthy member of the Methodist Episcopal church south of this place. He was thirty-five years of age. Leaves a wife and three children, father, mother and one sister to mourn his loss. His remains were conveyed to Big Shanty, near his former home, for interment, in charge of his bereaved friends and relatives. Rev. J. M. White, his pastor, went with them to perform the funeral services. We tender the sympathies of our community to the bereaved ones. |
