Death of Mr. Jacob Holmes.

From N. S. Eaves we learn of the death of Mr. Jacob Holmes in Athens last week. Mr. Holmes was for a long time a citizen of Cartersville and was well known and much loved by our people. The news of his death will be heard with regret. Said Mr. Eaves: “Jake Holmes was a clever man, a good citizen, and a true Christian, I know him well. He was one of the fastest and finest mechanics in Georgia. I am always sorry to hear of the death of such a man as Jake Holmes.” He was a member of the Baptist church, and a useful, prudent, practical man.
