Mr. Daniel Howren, one of oldest citizens, died on Friday, 9th instant, aged eight-one years. The funeral services were performed by Rev. Mr. McGhee, of Dalton, in an able and impressive sermon from 1st Thess., 4th chapter, 13-18 verses, inclusive. Mr. Howren was an acceptable member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Bartow, of which Mr. McGhee is pastor.
