Uncle Frank Hutchins. Old Uncle Frank Hutchins, the faithful janitor of the Methodist church and the court house, died yesterday morning. Uncle Frank was an old time darky and was much thought of by the whites as well as the blacks. He at one time was a servant of Bishop Marvin, and had known many of the leading lights of Southern Methodism. He had little patience with wrongdoing, whether among his own race or among the whites and tried to do what he conscientiously thought was right at all times. When a protracted meeting occurred at the Methodist church Uncle Frank always requested the privilege of testifying to the goodness of the Master and such privilege was granted him. |
