“Bartow County—Kingston.” On the morning of the 1 st the hearts of the people of Kingston were sad over the news that Mrs. Dr. WM. Irby was numbered with the silent dead. She passed away at 5 a. m., peacefully. She seemed to be a sweet sleep. She had only been ill for a short time. She died at the residence of Capt. A. Y. Sheats, with whom she had made her home for several years, and her daughter, Mrs. Sheats, gave her marked love and attention. She was formerly from Laurens district, S. C., and aunt of Senator Irby, of S. C. It can be truthfully said of her, a pure good Christian mother in Israel has passed over the river. She was in her 87 th year. Heart trouble was the cause of her death. We tender the sympathies of our people to the bereaved ones. |
