Mrs. Johnson Is Buried Saturday At Beach Creek

Mrs. H.M. Johnson, of Rome, a native of Gordon County, passed away Thursday, at the home of a son, Eddie Johnson, in Atco.

She had been in declining health for the past two months. She was 78 years old and had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from Beech Creek Methodist Church with Rev. Clyde Blackstock and Rev. W.J. Milsap officiating.

She is survived be her husband, five sons, Eddie of Atco; Clarence and Ernest, of Rome; Cleo, of Richmond, Va.; and Carl, of Pepperell, Ala.; a daughter, Mrs. William Christian, of Atlanta; nine grand children; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Burns, Chattanooga, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Forrest Hawkins Cartersville, Mrs. Oscar Tompkins, Taylorsville, and Mrs. Stanley Melcase, Gordon County.
