Mrs. A.O. Johnson Succumbs at 100
Believed to be Bartow's Oldest

Mrs. A. O. Johnson, who at 100 years of age was believed to be the oldest woman in Bartow County, passed away early Sunday morning at home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe Rampley, at White. Last October 25, Mrs. Johnson celebrated her 100th year. Mrs. Johnson, was the daughter of the late Terrance McGuire and Margaret Neville McGuire. She had been a member of the Kingston Methodist Church for over 80 years. Her husband died in 1904, Mr. Johnson was an engineer on the N.C. & St. L. Railroad.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by one son, C.E. Of Kingston, three daughters, Mrs. Basolean Casey of Kingston; Mrs. Lilly Bailey, of Acwoth, and Mrs. Joe Rampley of White. In addition she is survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson were held Monday afternoon at the home of her son, C.E. with the Revs. Herschel Hudgins and George Davis officiating interment was in the Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clifford Casey, Billy Casey, Clifford Johnson Jr., Clifford Johnson III, Toby Johnson, and Edgar Buck.

Barton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
