Shot Her Husband.

Ex-Representative E. O. Jones Killed by His Wife.

Fairburn, Ga., June 25. – A very serious tragedy occurred near here yesterday. Ex-Representative E. O. Jones, of this county, was shot through the head and mortally wounded by his wife.

The Jones family live in the country and are very prominent people. His present wife is his second, and for some time they have had frequent quarrels.

They had bitter words, and at last Mrs. Jones became so incensed she seized a shot gun and fired the contents into the head of her husband.

Mrs. Jones came to Fairburn and said that her step sons were trying to kill her because she shot their father. She feared trouble, so the sheriff carried her to Atlanta, and she is in the Fulton county jail.

Mr. Jones is mortally wounded and cannot live. The tragedy had stirred the community profoundly because of the prominence of the family.
