Mr. John Jefferson Jones, 93, of 118 Clearlake Drive, Adairsville, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at Cartersville Medical Center. He was born April 13, 1905, in Bartow County, son of the late Charlie and Lula Green Jones. Mr. Jones was a night watchman at Patty's Truck Stop. He was a member of Dewey Baptist Church and a member of Canton Moose Lodge #2129. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Bryson Jones; one son, Cecil Jones; and two brothers, Walton Jones and Guy Jones. Survivors include six sons, J.C. Jones of Pine Log, Herman Jones of Cartersville, Thomas Jones of Dalton, and Amos, Andy and J.R. Jones, all of Calhoun; one sister, Mary J. Sheffield of Rome; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Dewey Baptist Church, with Rev. George Chastain Sr. and Rev. Billy Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Hendricks Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Mark Jones, Matthew Jones, Gary Jones, Kevin Jones, David Jones and Jason Rogers. They are asked to meet at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home at 12:45 p.m. Friday. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
