Mrs. John Kay Passes

Friends and relatives of this community were shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. John Kay who died Monday night at Floyd Hospital after suffering a heart attack at her home near Taylorsville last Wednesday. Mrs. Kay had two attacks after being carried to the hospital, the third one was fatal.

Mrs. Kay was the former Miss Alice Moore and has lived in this vicinity all her life.

Her children were called to her bedside several days ago owing to her critical condition.

The love and sympathy of the entire community goes out to the Kay family in their sorrow.

Mrs. John Kay Succumbs Monday, Taylorsville Rites

Mrs. John Kay, of Taylorsville, passed away in a Rome hospital on Monday.

The deceased was born in Bartow, August 7, 1891, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Moore.

She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, four sons: John E. Kay, Houston, Tex.; Hugh Kay, Calhoun; J.C. Kay, Rome; Charles Kay, Taylorsville; three daughters: Mrs. J.E. Palmer, Daytona Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Wesley Campbell, Mrs. Hubert Harris, Taylorsville; three sisters: Mrs. J.E. Leach, Rome; Mrs. P. M. Maxwell, Mrs. Jesse Moore, Taylorsville, and 19 grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Taylorsville Baptist Church by Rev. C.R. Campbell and Rev. Jeff Norman.

Interment followed in the Taylorsville Cemetery with Freeman Harris Funeral Home of Rockmart in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Kay

Mrs. Alice Moore Kay, 67, of Taylorsville, Route 1, passed away Monday, November 10, in a Rome hospital.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, November 12, at three o'clock at the Taylorsville Baptist church. The Rev. C.R. Campbell and the Rev. Jeff Norman officiated, and interment was in the Taylorsville cemetery with the Freeman Harris Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kay was born in Bartow county on August 7, 1891, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Moore. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist church.

She is survived by her husband Mr. John Kay, of Taylorsville; four sons, John E. Kay, of Houston, Texas; Hugh Kay, of Calhoun, Charles Kay, of Taylorsville, and J.C. Kay, of Rome; three daughters, Mrs. J.E. Palmer, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Wesley Campbell and Mrs. Hubert Harris, both of Taylorsville; three sisters, Mrs. P.N. Maxwell and Mrs. Jessie Moore, both of Taylorsville, and Mrs. J.E. Leach, of Rome.

Nineteen grandchildren also survive.
