Mrs. Bessie B. Kay, 90, of 791 Peeples Valley Road, Cartersville, died Tuesday, December 1, 1992 at Humana Hospital-Cartersville.

A native of Bartow County, she was born on October 9, 1902, a daughter of the late Willard T. Bagwell and Fannie Stephens Bagwell.  She was a member of Wofford's Crossroads Baptist Church.  Prior to her retirement she was employed by E-Z Mills.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Rob Bagwell, and three sisters, Lola Brown, Mattie Harris and Emma Lou Edwards.

Surviving are her husband, Buford Kay, to whom she was married on June 23, 1935; a daughter, Jean Kay, of Cartersville; two grandchildren, Shane Edwards and Russell Kay; a sister, Ethel Smith, of Cartersville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 3, from the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Dempsey officiating.  Interment will follow in Wofford's Crossroads Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Pallbearers are asked to meet at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and include Wiley Sullins, Thomas McClure, Allen Edwards, Billy Edwards, Shane Edwards and Bill Bishop.

The Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
