Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Keever, aunt of County Manager J.D. Keever of Rome, Mr. John W. Johnston of Cartersville, and Mr. M. S (sic) Johnston of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma were held last Friday afternoon at the residence of Mr. Keever at 315 East Eighth St. Rev. Bunyan Stephens officiated. The remains were brought to Oak Hill for interrment.

Mrs. Keever who had reached the ripe old age of eighty-seven died on Thursday morning at Mr. Keever’s home. She fell in her room on Wednesday morning sustaining a broken hip which resulted in her death.

For more than thirty years she made her home in Cartersville, residing on Douglas Street. She was a sister of Mr. C.F. Johnston now a resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was universally beloved in Cartersville and many of the older residents will recall her and cherish her memory because of her kindly deeds and unselfish living for others.

Mrs. Keever had made her home in Rome with her nephew for the past five years and prior to that resided with the Keever family in Calhoun for many years. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Calhoun.

Pallbears included George Byrd, W.A. Knowles, N.N. Burns, Hugh Jolly, W.S. Horan, Frank Salmon, and Henry Pyne.
